Born in South Texas, Cheryle studied fine art and education at the University of Texas in Austin, before settling into a 35 year career in interior architecture and design in Chicago and Philadelphia. Towards the end of this career, Cheryle renewed her interest in fine art and painting working primarily in abstract soft pastel. Upon retiring to southern Andalucia in Spain in 2018 with her husband, Cheryle's work evolved into oil and acrylic painting on paper and linen as her primary working media, where her core work has been influenced by her adopted home´s landscape, culture and music, both thematically and symbolically. 


Robert Battles

Robert Battles was born in New York City in 1929,, Studied painting and drawing at the Art Students League during of the one of the most exciting periods of the New York School of Art, received his MFA from the University of Iowa in 1959, and taught Art History and Sculpture at the Art Institute of Chicago until 1969.  In 1969 he moved along with his wife and other Artists to the South Haven Area where he produced an incredible quantity of beautiful Sculptures, Paintings, Prints. Until his death in 2022.  His daughter Megan Bennet has honored his life by turning his old studio into an Art Gallery.  The Blue Star Collective 338 Blue Star Highway South Haven, MI.

These are sculptures from the late 50’s and 60’s. These organic forms are a small part of a series of similar pieces from that period.  Like other seasoned artists he has explored these forms in depth and has a lot to show for it.
